OU Band Scholarship Auditions

An event specifically designed for students who:

  • Want to participate in a large ensemble during in college (The Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, or Concert Band)
  • Would like to be considered for a band scholarship
  • Are planning to major in a field of study other than music

Thanks for your interest in auditioning for an OU Bands non-major scholarship! To receive consideration for a non-major band scholarship, you will need to do the following:

NEW PROCEDURE for 2013 Applicants

Step 1 Apply to OU: http://www.ou.edu/go2/admissions.html

Step 2 Get Accepted to OU: After being accepted to OU you will receive information about your log-in to access Ozone: https://ozone.ou.edu/cp/home/displaylogin

Step 3 Non-Major Scholarship Application: After logging into Ozone click on the “Money Tab”. Locate the “Scholarship Information” box and scroll down to “Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts Students,” click on the “2013-2014 Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts Scholarship Application” link. (Disclaimer: The listed March 1, 2013 deadline DOES NOT APPLY to the University of Oklahoma Bands Non-Major Scholarship Application; the deadline is: Monday, April 15, 2013.)

Perform an on-campus audition on Saturday, April 27, 2013

 

Step 4 Preparing audition material: After completing the web-based application, your on-campus audition will consist of two etudes that you will select. Please choose one technical and one lyrical etude to display your musical abilities.

Scholarship funds are awarded to band students on the basis of individual achievements for educational experiences at the University of Oklahoma.

Once a scholarship is received the student may retain the award by following the criteria below:

  • Participate in a large ensemble during the fall and spring semesters: Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, Concert Band, and/or Pride of Oklahoma.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA
