No. We check out a flag to each candidate on the first day of Pride week which will remain your practice flag throughout the season.

Are there any scholarships available to members of the Color Guard?
Unfortunately, we do not have a color guard scholarship. However, if you play an instrument and are not a music major, you have the option to audition for the non-major band scholarship. This scholarship requires that you take one music class per semester. Auditions will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013. You can register for auditions online at bands.ou.edu. Last day to register is April 15, 2013. If you miss it one year, you can apply the next. You do not have to be an incoming freshman to apply.
Do I have to be able to play an instrument to be in the Pride of Oklahoma Color Guard?

What is the Big 12 flag line? How do I become a part of it?
The Big 12 flag line is a select group of members of the Pride of Oklahoma color guard that carry the flags of each of the schools in the Big 12 conference in our pregame show. In order to be a part of this line you must first audition for and become a member of the Pride of Oklahoma color guard. Then you may audition for this line.
Do I have to go to every away game?
No! The Pride of Oklahoma understands that you are attending the University of Oklahoma to get an education and a degree, not to be in band. Therefore, we try to be accommodating, especially to new students who may still be figuring out college and so the only games freshman have to attend are home games, the Texas game, the Bowl game (this happens during winter break), and possibly one other away game throughout the semester.

How many members does the Pride of Oklahoma Color Guard usually have?
We have no set number. In recent years we have had between 20 and 25 members. We are more concerned about having the best group we can have and if someone seems fit for our color guard we will take them.
Are there member fees?
There is no cost to be in the Pride of Oklahoma. However, Pride of Oklahoma color guard members pay a $25 rental fee to rent equipment for the year and all Pride members pay a certain amount of money for apparel. This includes t-shirts, polos, hats, jackets, and shoes that are required for members to have.
