The Pride of Oklahoma had a fantastic 2006 football season culminating with a fantastic trip to the Fiesta Bowl. Pride members enjoyed a fantastic 7 day trip to Tempe, AZ. While in the Tempe area, the Pride was able to perform at multiple events, attend the Fiesta Bowl's New Year's Eve Block Party, and spend time enjoying the scenic landscape! Capped off by what some consider "The Game of the Century", the Fiesta Bowl was an experience no Pride member will ever forget.
Throughout the 2006 season, Pride members participated in many exciting games and venues. Members of "The Pride" traveled as far away as Eugene, OR to cheer on the Sooners. Victories over Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and Nebraska to win the Big 12 Championship were just some of the highlights of a great Sooner Football season.
The 300-member "Pride of Oklahoma" has been supporting Sooner Spirit for nearly a century. The 2006 Pride included members from 19 states, including students from virtually all colleges and departments on campus enrolled in 63 different academic majors. The 2004 Pride had an average GPA of 3.55 and an average ACT of 26.7. Over one-third of the student members in the Pride are involved in various distinguished academic programs including: the National Scholars Program, University Scholars, President's Scholars, and the Honors College. The Pride of Oklahoma stands for excellence in musicianship, academics, school spirit, and commitment to our role in the surrounding community.
