Since 1904 the University of Oklahoma Bands have contributed to the collegiate spirit and cultural life on the Norman campus. The band program at OU provides enrichment for university events and serves as creative and emotional outlets for nearly 400 student-participants each year. and Pianist, Carter Pann joins the The Symphony Band and Wind Symphony in “GAMES,
DANCES, and CELEBRATIONS” on Monday, November 23,
at 8:00 p.m. in Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall. Carter Pann and the Wind Symphony
present the consortium premiere of Concerto Logic with Pann at the keyboard.
The Wind Symphony also presents John Mackey’s newest composition for
wind ensemble, Aurora Awakes, as well as Jacques Press’s spirited Wedding
Dance from “Hasseneh Suite.” The Symphony Band program includes
a new fanfare by Wataru Hokoyama, Armenian Dances by Aram Khachaturian, Allerseelen
by Richard Strauss, and Easter Monday on the White House Lawn by John Philip
Sousa. Tickets for the Sutton Series events are $ 8 for adults and $ 5 for
